Across the Map: Arkansas Auto Shipping
When it comes to transporting a car to Arkansas, there are a few things that you need to know beforehand so you don’t find yourself scratching your head wondering what’s taking so long. Arkansas is far from a popular auto transport location, and there are not a lot of carriers willing to travel to most areas of the state unless they get more money for it. The reason why is that outside of Little Rock, really, there’s not a whole lot of densely populated areas that carriers can easily get in or out of without taking a financial loss on the transport. It helps that I-40 passes through the state, as many carriers will utilize that, but there aren’t a lot of major cities along it in Arkansas, which can be a problem.
However, Little Rock sits along I-40, and as Little Rock is the largest metro area in the state carriers are much more willing to move vehicles in or out of there due to the higher demand for transport services to or from the city. It also helps that Little Rock is connected to Dallas, Texas via I-30, and that I-40 runs clear from California to North Carolina, passing through several major metro areas in the process. I-30 isn’t a major interstate in the sense that it goes through a lot of different cities, but it does connect on major city with another and connects also with both I-20 and I-35 (or at least gets carriers close enough to make the jump easily). When transporting a vehicle to Arkansas, keep in mind that carrier availability may be lower as the only way to get to most areas of Arkansas is via I-40 and then I-30, and there aren’t really any connectors coming from the north, so there are fewer places carriers can run routes from into Arkansas.
