The logistics and transportation sector is undergoing a massive transformation. This scholarship is open to students at accredited U.S. colleges and universities who demonstrate academic excellence, a passion for the shipping industry, and original thinking about where logistics is headed. One winner is selected each year through an essay competition judged by industry professionals.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the American Auto Shipping Logistics Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Enrollment: Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Field of Study: Pursuing a degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, business administration, or a closely related field.
- GPA: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Residency: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Academic Level: Undergraduate and graduate students are both eligible to apply.
Applicants do not need to demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and the quality of the submitted essay.

- Industry Knowledge: Does the applicant demonstrate an understanding of current trends and challenges in the shipping industry?
- Clarity and Writing Quality: Is the essay well-organized, clearly written, and free of grammatical errors?
- Practical Vision: Does the applicant articulate ideas that could realistically improve how goods are shipped across the country?
Academic performance (GPA) is a qualifying factor, not a ranking factor — once you meet the 3.0 threshold, your essay is what sets you apart.
