Each dot sits 60% of the way along its lane from the pickup city, so a route and its reverse never share a dot. The outline is simplified and positions are approximate. Seasonal factors are our own estimates held in the published formula (v2026.09.2); see How we estimate.

All routes, by direction

Questions about the map

Each dot is one route page. Its color is the seasonal factor our estimate formula applies in November for the direction that lane runs: warm for months that push estimates up, blue for months that pull them down. The percentage is printed in the list under the map, so color is never the only signal.

The map shows seasonal pressure only. Prices depend on distance, vehicle, open or enclosed transport, pickup area and fuel. Open any route page to see its formula-based estimate range, which is an estimate and not a quote.

The formula compares the latitude of the pickup and the delivery point. More than 3 degrees south counts as southbound, more than 3 degrees north as northbound, anything else as neutral. It does not look at longitude, so an east-west route that also runs far south is treated as southbound.

Yes. The page re-renders daily from the current calendar month, so a lane that is warm in October is usually blue by December. The full year is on the busy season calendar.
