Auto Transport Tips: Pickup/Delivery Inspection
When your vehicle is picked up, you will be required to do an inspection of your vehicle with the driver before the vehicle is loaded onto the carrier. This inspection is to note any prior damage to your vehicle and is used for comparison purposes upon delivery.
Inspecting your vehicle is crucial to a good experience – or a good damage claim, if your vehicle incurs damage during transport. Make sure to mark down any dings, dents or scratches that you see, because when the carrier arrives at the delivery location, you and the driver will do another inspection of the vehicle to look for any new damages to the vehicle.
This is where the comparison comes in – auto transport companies are only liable to repair any damage done during transport itself, and so carriers will look to be thorough and make sure that all prior damage is noted on the inspection report prior to loading your vehicle.
