Dublin is a city located in Franklin, Delaware and Union counties, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is currently home to a population of 43,600 residents and is a part of the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area and is a major suburb of Columbus proper.
Though first settled as early as 1802, it wasn’t until the 1830’s that any sense of cohesion and township formed in the Dublin area. It remained a sleepy village outside Columbus until the turn of the 20th century, and notably after the construction of I-270 during the 1970’s – since its 1970 population of 651, Dublin has grown into a city of over 43,000, and was incorporated as a city proper in 1987.

Auto Transport Tips to and from Dublin
Auto shipping and car transport companies prefer to run routes into major cities and metropolitan areas, as they tend to have the largest bases of customers and therefore more business opportunities for the carrier. By sticking to heavily populated areas, car shippers keep their trucks full while still servicing a high number of customers, which means more money for them. In this, Dublin is in a good location; as a major suburb of Columbus, the capital and largest city in Ohio, it sees much more customer traffic than smaller, more rural areas of the state, and thus tends to see lower prices and faster pickup, transit and delivery windows as a result.
Dublin sits just north of Columbus and borders the city proper, which really helps as it’s only a few miles away from the heart of the city. It sits along I-270, which is the main beltway surrounding Columbus; this is great because it allows car shipping companies to easily get around the entire Columbus metropolitan area while still being on the Interstate Highway System and being able to connect to other major north-south and east-west interstates. I-70 is the main east-west interstate that services Columbus, and sits only a few miles south of Dublin, making it an easy city to get to and from – and, as a result, cheaper and faster on the whole.
