Roscoe is a village located in Winnebago County, in the U.S. state of Illinois. Currently home to a population of over 10,780, Roscoe sits about fifteen miles north of Rockford, which anchors the Rockford Metropolitan Statistical Area, which Roscoe sits within. Though people have been living in the area for close to two hundred years, the village did not officially incorporate until 1965. Rapid growth in recent years has put the village at odds with several of its neighbors including Rockton, to the north and west.
