Auto Transport Tips to and from Stockton
Stockton is a major transportation area, and has served as Inland California’s main transportation hub for the better part of a century, alongside Sacramento. This has led to the construction of two major north-south corridors passing through the area: Interstate 5 and State Route 99. Both of these routes allow access to both northern and southern California, giving Stockton a big leap up the list in terms of popular auto transport location.s
Its links to Sacramento make it an easy extension of the city, but if you’re shipping into Stockton from the north you may be able to save some money by shipping to Sacramento instead. Sacramento is the larger city of the two, and not all auto shippers run all the way south to Los Angeles or San Diego (though many do). Talk to your representative if you have questions or want to know of other possible scenarios for saving money to or from Stockton.
Stockton would, however, be a good substitute for Modesto as well; the fact that it sits further north, and that Interstate 5 passes further west of Modesto, make Stockton an easier area to get to for many auto transportation companies coming from the north.
Conversely, shipping to Modesto instead of Stockton, if your carrier is coming from the south, could also save you some money. It’s best to talk to your representative and also your driver about the specific route they are taking and seeing if they can save you some money by shipping to somewhere of more convenience to the driver.
