Washington 3Washington is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Home to over 6.9 million residents, Washington ranks 13th among the 50 states in total population and 18th in total area.

Almost sixty percent of residents living in Washington live in the Seattle metropolitan area, on the coast of Puget Sound. Washington state is one of the largest natural resource producers in the United States today, and is a leading producer of apples and lumber. Hops, red raspberries, spearmint, and sweet cherries are also high on Washington State’s list of exports. Learn more about the state via Washington’s official website.

Transporting a vehicle to Washington State is done of one of two ways, more often than not, as there are only two major interstates that actually run through Washington. Interstate 5 is the main route that most auto transporters use as it runs from California up north through Seattle and into Canada, servicing much of Washington’s population centers.

Auto transport companies go where the people are, and as such they tend to travel a lot to Seattle and the rest of the Puget Sound area. They can also use I-90, which runs across the Cascade Mountains and through eastern Washington, but I-90 is not has heavily used because it tends to run through areas that have few major population centers; even though it runs from coast to coast, it is not popular with auto shippers due to the relatively low number of people living there.

Cost-wise, Washington State will cost about as much as most other areas – in the west, anyway. Eastern Washington tends to cost more to ship to or from and takes longer to get a car picked up or delivered in the area because of the fact that much of it is arid desert or steppe topography, making it difficult to live in and more difficult for auto transporters to turn a profit.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to ship to or from Eastern Washington – it just means it’ll likely be more expensive than the more heavily-populated areas of Western Washington.
